Major League Baseballs All-Star Charity Concert with the NY Philharmonic includes Steven Rosenhaus tribute to Baseball

Steven Rosenhaus

MLB’s All-Star Charity Concert benefitting Sandy Relief, featuring the New York Philharmonic, Grammy award-winning singer Mariah Carey and Joe Torre-in anticipation of Major League Baseball’s upcoming All-Star Game in NYC--took place on July 13th in Central Park.

Along with works by Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, Randy Newman, Steven Reineke, and Mark Isham-the New York Philharmonic concluded this special event with Steven Rosenhaus’ orchestral arrangement of Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilser’s beloved, timeless 1908 Tin Pan Alley song “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”--long considered baseball’s unofficial anthem.

Along with Steven Rosenhaus’ own works-including his acclaimed “Samba,” “The Kiss” and “Two True Blues” recorded on my Changing the Pace album, are his solo instrumental, orchestral, and band arrangements of renowned works. This includes Matilda Variations, based on Australia’s “Waltzing Matilda,” which I commissioned in tribute for my NY Australian Consulate performance, and also recorded. It is the soundtrack of Broken Tail Production’s popular 2013 video “Matilda Variations” featuring paintings by the noted Australian artist Ian Banksmith.

Congratulations to Steven and deep appreciation to all involved--and the music brought forward in such a wonderful way--encouraging continued support of our community-at large.
